The Team
Olivia Becker
Olivia Becker is the Founder and CEO of Becker Transactions. She has extensive patent brokerage experience dating back to 2010 when she was the first female patent broker at ICAP, a FTSE 100 Company at the time traded on the London Stock Exchange. Following her time at ICAP, Ms. Becker joined Unified Patents, a member-based organization whose goal is to promote innovation by protecting against frivolous patent litigation. From 2016-2020, Olivia held the role of Partnership Development Leader at Carneros Bay, a fintech firm focused on the creation, development, and launch of new financial services technologies and companies.
From 2017-2020, Ms. Becker served as Vice President of Ocean Tomo China, a joint venture with Sinofaith IP Group, one of the largest IP Protection Companies in China. The joint venture was a collaboration focused on providing intellectual property advisory services to support the monetization of intellectual property. In 2019, Ms. Becker received a Letter of Appointment as an expert on the Consultant Committee of the Silk Road International Intellectual Property Hub. From 2020 to 2022, Ms. Becker served as Chief Business Development Officer of Transactions at Ocean Tomo, through its acquisition by J.S. Held, a global consulting firm with more than 1,500 professionals who serve organizations across six continents. Ms. Becker is globally recognized as an expert in patent transactions and innovative IP business models.
Luke Smith
Luke Smith is the Chief Strategy Officer of Becker Transactions. Mr. Smith is a veteran of the United States Air Force Special Command, serving two tours in Afghanistan and one in Colombia. Smith served six years and was honorably discharged to pursue higher education Earning a Mathematics degree focusing on Applied Mathematics, statistics, and Finance. Starting in 2017, performed various roles for the largest credit union in the world. Marketing operations, digital communications, innovation strategy, and enterprise security architecture. Luke has extensive experience in researching, interviewing, and implementing the latest fintechs. He most recently was involved in the technology governance and cybersecurity for the latest technology architecture.
Dean Becker
Dean Becker is the Chairman of Becker Transactions. He also serves as Vice Chairman and CEO globally of ROKIT Group. Mr. Becker is globally recognized as a pioneer in the wireless industry. He has extensive experience as a principal in venture capital and private equity-funded transactions focusing on the telecommunications industry and is an expert in patent litigation strategy.
Mr. Becker has been involved in over 11 billion dollars of intellectual property-based transactions. Mr. Becker has been widely recognized as a visionary in intellectual property markets having created the Ocean Tomo Live Public Auction practice in 2006. Mr. Becker’s market-making experience extends back more than 30 years across several technologies. He founded 422 Inc., an innovative wireless directory assistance service. He was also the Chairman and CEO of eWireless, a patent-based abbreviated dial service across all major wireless careers that enabled direct response consumer marketing for participating radio advertisers. Mr. Becker served as Chairman and CEO of Becker Beeper. He sold the company in 1994 to Arch, a public company.
